STAFF BIOS


Jason
Jason Overman is Editor of Publications of the Bible Advocate Press. After 24 years in the publishing industry (in sales and management) with the Harrison Daily Times, Jason left his general manager’s position to join the BAP family in 2015. He has served in ministry for 30 years and currently pastors the Church of God (Seventh Day) in Jasper, Arkansas, with his wife, Stephanie, and two children, Tabitha and Isaac. Jason enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading theology, playing his guitar, and taking in the beautiful Ozark Mountains he calls home. IMG_9345Sherri Langton, associate editor, has worked for the Bible Advocate Press for 27 years. In addition to editing the BA, she oversees material for the e-zine Now What? and edits the Church of God newsletter Churchright, curriculum, and other literature for the BAP. Sherri also writes for other Christian publications and represents the BA at a number of Christian writers conferences in the United States. She lives in Denver, Colorado, where she enjoys walking, swimming, playing drums, and spending time with family. Contact: sherri@cog7.org.

 

 

 

 

KeithKeith Michalak is Director of Publications at the Bible Advocate Press. He has worked in the Publications department at the Church of God since 1973, beginning with recycling lead for reuse and then operating machines in the print shop. At present, Keith does all the computer graphic design work you see in the Bible Advocate and in the Church’s other publications. When he’s not working, he spends time learning about steam trains. Keith lives in Broomfield, Colorado, with his wife, Linda, and two children, Kyle and Joanna. Contact: keith.michalak@cog7.org.

 

 

 

 

FullSizeRenderSylvia Corral has served as Spanish translator for the General Conference for the past 20 years. She has also served as national vice-president and West Coast District rep for the National Women’s Ministry. In 1987 Sylvia started the National Hispanic Women’s Retreat and, two years later, the Men’s Retreat. She currently lives in a small town called Riverbank, in Northern California, and attends the CoG7 (McCreery Avenue) in San Jose, where most of her family lives and attends church. MarthaMartha Muffley is chairperson and contact for the Translation Oversight Department. She also does data entry and is the mail clerk for the Bible Advocate Press. Born and raised in Mexico City, Martha has lived in several states and taught Spanish at Spring Vale Academy (Owosso, Michigan) for nearly five years while her husband, Monico, served at the Owosso church. She and Monico recently assumed senior pastoral duties at the Denver church. When not ministering to others, Martha enjoys reading, music, and writing.
