Peter Youngs’ grandfather was A.N Dugger. He was a sometimes-controversial figure in the Sabbatarian churches in the early part of the 1900’s. Dugger moved to Israel in 1949 where he published the Mount Zion Reporter until his death in 1974. Peter’s father, Victor Youngs married Orabelle Dugger Youngs in 1949. Peter is the 7th of their 10 children. Victor Youngs was a pastor in the Church of God 7th day. Peter was raised in the church and intended to become a minister like his father and grandfather. But he was sidetracked by life. Peter spent most of his adult life working in an Emergency Department, Prehospital emergency services, and teaching EMS at a community college. In 1998 while working as a flight paramedic, he was in a helicopter crash. He was badly injured and spent many years with surgeries and rehab, learning to walk again and recovering from a head injury. Then he went back to school and became a minister. He spent 5 years as Pastor of the Church of God 7th day in Wichita KS. He now works for his community with people who are mentally ill, homeless, or have other crises that affect their lives. Peter and his wife have 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
