Immanuel

I see Him sleeping there,
a tiny boy with downy hair,
His life on earth now just begun
this Child who came for everyone.

I touch His silky skin
this Babe so pure, so free from sin,
And know someday He’ll weathered be
when He gives His life to set us free.

I hear His newborn cries,
see tears fill up His mother’s eyes,
Yet sense somehow other hearts will sing
when we find the hope His coming brings.

Again, I see Him sleeping there
this One who came from heaven fair,
This One who gives us all that’s grand
with a love that comes from God’s own hand.
