Long before Messiah came and died for the sins of the whole world, the prophets of old proclaimed the good news that God\u2019s mission of salvation would reach not only Israel, but all nations. This fulfilled God\u2019s promise to Abraham to bless all the families of the earth through faith (Genesis 12:3; Galatians 3:8, 14).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here is just a sample of the prophets\u2019 witness to Jew and Gentile alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Isaiah 42:6:<\/strong> \u201cI, the Lord, have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand; I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the Gentiles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Isaiah 49:6:<\/strong> \u201cIndeed He says, \u2018It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jeremiah 3:17: <\/strong>\u201cAt that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the Lord, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem. No more shall they follow the dictates of their evil hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Joel 2:28:<\/strong> \u201cAnd it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Amos 9:11, 12:<\/strong> \u201cOn that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old; that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the Gentiles who are called by My name,\u201d says the Lord who does this thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jonah 3:2, 5, 10:<\/strong> \u201cArise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.\u201d . . . So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. . . . Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Micah 4:1, 2:<\/strong> \u201cNow it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord\u2019s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and peoples shall flow to it. Many nations shall come and say, \u2018Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Habakkuk 2:14:<\/strong> \u201cFor the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zechariah 2:11: <\/strong>\u201cMany nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst.
