\u00a0<\/sup><\/p>\n This year marks the 500th<\/sup> anniversary of the Protestant Reformation. When Martin Luther nailed his \u201cNinety-five Theses\u201d to the church door in Wittenberg, Germany (1517), he had no idea that his reforming challenge would launch a movement that reverberates around the world to this day.<\/p>\n Recovering Holy Scripture as the rule of faith and practice was central to Luther\u2019s reform message. His later summary of the reforming spirit dovetails nicely with the BA\u2019s own mission: \u201cHere is the sum of the matter: let everything be done so that the Word may have free course.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Bible Advocate<\/em> seeks articles on the following themes:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n January-February:<\/strong> Identification \u2013 Solo Christo<\/em><\/p>\n Finding our identity in our participation in the life of Jesus alone: Focus on John<\/em>.<\/p>\n Topics: <\/em>Articles on our identity in Christ vs. fleshly identities that distort\/divide; reflections on Gospels: life of Jesus, parables, miracles, commandments, events.<\/p>\n Submission deadline: October 17, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n March-April:<\/strong> Revelation \u2013 Sola Scriptura<\/em><\/p>\n Finding our vision in God\u2019s Word, the only rule of faith and practice: Focus on Psalms<\/em>.<\/p>\n Topics: <\/em>Bible authority and worldview: how we got it, read it, and apply it. Submission deadline: December 16, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n May-June:<\/strong> Reformation \u2013 Sola Fide<\/em><\/p>\n Finding our faithfulness by measuring all things against faith alone: Focus on Romans<\/em>.<\/p>\n Topics: <\/em>Explore big doctrines: incarnation, atonement, justification, sanctification; where the Reformation went right, wrong, or not far enough; Bible stories of faith.<\/p>\n Submission deadline: February 17, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n July-August: <\/strong>Transformation \u2013 Sola Gratia<\/em><\/p>\n Finding our lives shaped and empowered by the grace of God alone: Focus on Genesis<\/em>.<\/p>\n Topics: <\/em>Explore God\u2019s initiating power, restoring mercy, our gratitude, essential change by new covenant; heroes of Genesis, grace\/law; recovery testimonies.<\/p>\n Submission deadline: April 17, 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n September-October:<\/strong> Communication \u2013 Sola Ecclesia<\/em><\/p>\n Finding our friendships and fellowship in a Spirit-formed community: Focus on Acts<\/em>.<\/p>\n Topics: <\/em>Practical shared life in the church: worship, prayer, singing, study, sharing resources, working, hospitality, and discipline.
