It\u2019s where readers can find articles to assist them as they\u00a0<\/span><b>serve &amp; lead\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">those with whom they interact in their daily lives.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><strong>4. Choose a keyword and specific focus.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Before you write, construct one of the following focus sentences:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The reader should do\u00a0\u00a0_____ because of\u00a0\u00a0_____ .<\/li>\n<li>The reader can accomplish ______ by doing ______.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your keyword will be in\u00a0one of those blanks. Make sure you keep your keyword and focus sentence in mind the entire time you are writing.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>5. Write an engaging introduction.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The first few sentences is where you connect with your reader, so it pays off to spend time crafting an engaging opening. Try to include your keyword in your\u00a0first sentence. Your introduction should be very clear on why your topic is significant to leadership development.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>7. \u00a0Keep readability in mind.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Doing the following will help keep your reader engaged the entire article:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use <a href=\"https:\/\/yoast.com\/writing-blog-creating-clear-blog-post-structure\/#transition-words\">transition words<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid writing in a <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.yoast.com\/kb\/passive-voice\/\">passive voice<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Use subheadings<\/li>\n<li>Keep your paragraphs short<\/li>\n<li>Most sentences should less than 20 words.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><strong>8. Write with kindness and honesty.<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Our readers are our peers, our brothers and sisters in Christ, our ministry teammates\u2026and you have something of value to offer them!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Write in a semi-informal tone like you are talking to a friend and sharing with them something that has been helpful to you as a follower of Christ that you think will be helpful to them as well. Don\u2019t talk down to them but rather encourage them as someone who has been there. Feel free to use personal examples and anecdotes.
