This Issue’s Authors

Robert Coulter (“Our Resurrection Hope,” p. 4) is a past president of the General Conference of the CoG7 and of the North American Ministerial Council. He pastored numerous congregations, served as the district superintendent of three districts, and directed Missions Abroad for eighteen years. Robert grew up in the Church of God (Seventh Day) in the 1940s, in Parkersburg, West Virginia. From his youth he has had a keen interest in the affairs of the Church and joined its ministerial staff in 1955. In his retirement Robert wrote The Journey: A History of the Church of God (Seventh Day). He and his wife, Ida, reside in Northglenn, CO, and attend the Denver church.

Bryan Brigham (“That Man Came!” p. 7) has written several blogs and for two years wrote as a missionary columnist for the Abilene Reporter News. He manages a grocery store manager and preaches occasionally. Bryan lives in Denton, TX.

Dorothy Nimchuk (“Prelude to Glory,” p. 8) has written intermediate Sabbath school lessons (current curriculum), stories for her grandchildren, and articles. She has self-published six books, proofread BAP copy while her husband Nick attended Midwest Bible College, served as Central District secretary-treasurer and as NAWM committee representative for the Western Canadian District women. Dorothy edited WAND (Women’s Association News Digest), Ladies Link (Western Canadian District women), and currently co-edits Afterglow, a newsletter for seniors. She assisted her husband, Nick, in ministry for thirty-four years prior to his retirement in 2002. The Nimchuks live in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

 Israel Steinmetz (“Prophetic Pair,” p. 12) is dean of Academic Affairs for LifeSpring School of Ministry. In addition to teaching, Israel loves to write. He is co-author (with Whaid Rose) of Getting a Handle on Worship, contributing editor to This We Believe: Teachings of the Church of God (Seventh Day), and a regular contributor to the Bible Advocate and https://artiosmagazine.org. Committed to lifelong learning, Israel is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. He lives in San Antonio, TX, with his wife, Anna, and their seven young children.

 Barbara Palmer (“Because We Prayed,” p. 15) has served many years in CoG7 ministry with her husband, Glen. They live in Thornton, CO.

Grace Carpenter (“Finishing the Race,” p. 18) recently retired from elementary school teaching after twenty-nine years. She likes to spend time with family and friends and enjoys hiking, church activities, attending concerts, going to the beach and botanic garden, and nature photography. She also loves to read, especially historical fiction and biography. Grace enjoys learning more about many topics, such as creation science, the Spanish language, and geography. She lives in Covina, CA, and serves in the Ontario, CA CoG7 as a deacon.

Tom Wilkinson (“Are You Tired Yet?” p. 20) serves as administrator for the CoG7 church in Walla Walla, WA. He is a single dad who works at home as a writer doing Internet sports content writing for websites. He and his daughter, Jessica, have lived in the eastern Washington area for the past eight years. Tom likes sports and travel, and he even does big panoramic puzzles to give him time away from the computer. But his favorite getaway is to the beach.

Pat Jeanne Davis (“After the Storm,” p. 22) has been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul books, Guideposts, The Lookout, Faith & Family, Ruby For Women, and Women Alive (UK). Jonathon Hicks (“The Militant Messiah,” p. 24) and his wife, Danielle, and are newly formed Californians. They moved to Lodi, CA, in September 2016 and have not yet grown weary of the ceaseless sunny days. Jonathon serves a congregation who has taught him much and given incalculable support. He is seeking to love those he has the privilege of speaking to week after week.

Carla Pollard (“Hagar’s Song,” p. 17) has been published in Power for Living, CoLaborer, Together with God, Proverbs 31 OBS In the Gap Bible Study, and other publications. She lives in North Chesterfield, VA.
