Meet the Authors
Dr. Kim Papaioannou (“House of Healing, House of Loss,” p. 4) is assistant professor of New Testament Studies at the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies in The Philippines. He has contributed chapters to Hears of the Reformation and to a book on difficult texts in the Bible, and is an editor of and contributor to an upcoming book, tentatively titled Earthly Shadows, Heavenly Realities. Dr. Papaioannou has also been published in the Adventist Review and Aggelioforos, the Greek Adventist journal.
Jael Hamilton (“Greedy or Generous?” p. 6) is the mother of three who lives in Houston, TX. She and her husband, Scott, are active members working with Southwestern District student ministries and as co-founders of the non-profit LOVEshared (www.loveshared.org).
Shirley A. Reynolds (“’Midst Roses and Concrete,” p. 8) has been published in a variety of publications, including The Vision, Idaho World, Purpose, The Secret Place, and Mature Living. She loves art, photography, ice carving, and driving her 4-wheeler. Shirley lives in Idaho City, ID.
Jeff Endecott (“Why Doctrine is Important,” p. 13) serves as pastor in Farmville, NC, and as superintendent of the Southeastern District.
Calvin Burrell (“150 More Years?” p. 17) is editor of the Bible Advocate and president of the North American Ministerial Council.
Lonna Enox (“Dreams Renewed,” p. 22) has taught at a large high school and community college and has been a news reporter. She is now a full-time freelance writer with articles published in Cats and Kittens, Mature Living, Mature Years, War Cry, Today’s Christian Woman, and other publications. Besides writing, Lonna loves wildlife, her church, reading, and the tomcats who own her. She lives in Roswell, NM.
Petey Prater (poem, p. 25) has had articles and poetry published in The Christian Journal, Live. Pathways to God, Bible Advocate, and Now What? She has also contributed to book collections: Prayers for Troubled Times (AMG Publishers), 101 Stories of Answered Prayer (AMG Publishers), and Walking With God/365 Reflections (Portland Christian Center). Petey also teaches and speaks at women’s retreats and conferences and holds a weekly prayer group in her home. She lives with her husband, Don, in Dallas, OR.
